In the lead up to the release of the highly anticipated new album ‘Crack The Skye’ out on 23rd March, there are all sorts of rumblings happening in the world of globally-revered hard rock behemoths Mastodon. Firstly, having just performed to a packed out crowd at the Scion Rock festival in their home-town of Atlanta, Mastodon will be returning to the UK this summer at the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth. This event, headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park takes place on August 1st and 2nd.
There will be a strictly limited edition format of the new album. This super-deluxe version of ‘Crack The Skye’ will come housed in a hard box case featuring a third dimension worm hole design that will contain exclusive and additional album art by long-time Mastodon artist, Paul Romano. The first handful to order this ‘Crack The Skye’ Limited Edition will receive an album sleeve signed by the band.
These extraordinary packages will be extremely limited and once they are gone, no further editions will be created. There will also be very limited ‘Divinations’ T-Shirt / CD bundle. Only 200 in the UK (US store is now sold out)† and exclusively available only from the hot new site www.cracktheskye.com
And if all that wasn’t enoughÖ Fans can call 001 404 425 9375 to hear clips of every track on the new album with each track introduced by a band member. These clips will roll out this week with one clip per day over the next consecutive 5 days (clips will be changed at 10am PST daily), and shut down Sunday at 10am PST.† There will also be viral “secret menu options” that will be new daily, with band messages and exclusive merchandise discount codes.
