Hussein Boon releases 'Life Changes' on November 10th, this debut release from celebrated UK musician Hussein Boon takes the listener on an unforgettable, mesmerising and rewarding journey through 10 guitar instrumentals that give a new take on the ‘Jazz with Electronica’ crossover field. Hussein Boon is a contemporary jazz guitarist who draws from a wide palette of influences; whether it’s Wes Montgomery/ Gil Evans era, Miles Davis to the contemporary sounds, and production techniques of Massive Attack, Air and Fragile State.
The album was three years in the making and although a virtuosic player, Hussein’s guitar style is defined not by speed or attack but rather through an attention to melody. “I’ve always been into songs since I was young” he comments. ”It’s that magic when everything is in balance.” The ten instrumentals on this album are exquisitely crafted tunes that weave into the jazz fabric diverse elements from within London’s musical landscape. The echoes of reggae, trance, funk, salsa, even seventies rock, are added to convey a particular mood. This is a jazz guitar album that contains not a single jazz clichÈ. Live dates to be scheduled from September 08 onwards. http://www.husseinboon.co.uk
